In October 2004, ACM SIGGRAPH, in conjunction with Afrigraph, organized a two-week tour of South Africa to promote Computer Graphics as a career for women. Five prominent women role models in the CG field (Barb Helfer, Colleen Case, Katja Buehler, Marie-Claude Frasson, Ilda Ladeira), and the AG04 key-note speaker (Wolfgang Strasser) gave presentations across the country to more than 400 school pupils.
